How to Get Your Skin Glowing Overnight

We all know that moisturization is a must, and that drinking plenty of water is beneficial in a lot of ways, but despite our best efforts, many of us still wake up in the morning with dull, tired-looking skin.

What’s that all about?

Generally speaking, as skin matures its cellular regenerative properties slow down and dead cells buildup on the surface – so aging definitely plays a factor. But the build up of dead skin cells can happen to anyone, and other things such as dry skin or stress can dull the youthful glow your skin once had.

Your nighttime ritual should always include the removal of all makeup using a gentle cleanser, followed by the use of a balancing toner and hydrating moisturizer. Then you can do some extra things (nightly, or a couple of times a week – it’s up to you!).

The following are some tricks to help you rejuvenate your skin and promote new cell growth to achieve glowing, youthful skin overnight…

Massage your skin with a nourishing facial oil. Natural oils have a lot of vitamins and nutrients that your skin absorbs, promoting healthier skin that also looks more youthful. You can choose from a variety of essential oils or try a more exotic (although easy-to-find and relatively inexpensive) oil like Babassu. A daily massaging treatment with facial oil will also help promote blood circulation, which helps your skin to increase collagen production.

Heal and hydrate with natural products. Raw milk can give your skin natural radiance and glow! Apply a layer and massage it into your skin until completely absorbed, then leave it on overnight and rinse it off in the morning with cool tap water. This treatment can also help remove tanning, which can dull the glow of your skin. You can follow the same method of overnight treatment using aloe vera gel instead for a more hydrating effect that will leave your skin super soft!

Use an overnight face mask. After cleansing and toning but before moisturizing your face at night, apply a sleeping face mask a couple of times each week and let it stay on overnight. This will not only help nourish your skin with the vitamins and minerals in the mask, rinsing it off in the morning will help to gently exfoliate your skin and remove those dead skin cells that cause dullness.

Apply rose water. With its wonderful glow-boosting properties, rose water helps your skin look fresh and youthful in addition to helping it feel more soft and smooth. Soak a cotton pad in rose water and dab it on your face like you would with a toner, then leave it on overnight to take advantage of its rejuvenating properties. Rinse in the morning with cold water, and follow up with a rich moisturizer.

Rejuvenate the skin around your eyes. Although you want glowing skin all over your face, the skin around your eyes is probably the most important spot to focus on. It’s also the most sensitive and susceptible to dullness, dark circles, and puffiness. Use an overnight eye gel or under eye serum each night for the best results.
